Government e Marketplace [GeM] launched ‘SWAYATT’ [Startups, Women And Youth Advantage Through eTransactions] on 19th February 2019 in New Delhi. SWAYATT seeks to bring together key stakeholders, within the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem to the national procurement portal of Government [GeM]. The programme was attended by over 300 participants majorly comprising of micro, small and medium enterprises including over 60% women.
GeMs initiated “SWAYATT” in their endeavour to create an open and socially inclusive marketplace for all sellers and service providers. GeM launched dedicated sections on the platform for Women Entrepreneurs, Self-Help Groups [SHGs], Startups, Rural/ Urban artisans and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises [MSMEs].
SIDBI participated in the initiative by participating in an exhibition. Information were disseminated on various schemes , particularly the swavalamban drive initiated by SIDBI on pan India basis including at Kumbh. SIDBI team interacted with over 150 entrepreneurs and aspirants, majority being Women. Mission Swvalamban ( spreading entrepreneurship culture) was an attraction among young aspirants and entrepreneurs. SIDBI stall was visited and our participation appreciated by Chief Guest -Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Shri Suresh Prabhu and Shri Chhotu Ram Chaudhary, Minister of State of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
